Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any insight into what are the rules about reaching and stretching when you are pregnant.  For example, reaching up high to get something from a cupboard, ie a heavy suitcase.  My mum keeps saying I shouldn\'t do this as it can affect the umbilical cord!!!!!

Hey there, I go by the rule of whatever is comfortable for you. Anything that you can\'t support with your arms only is a safe bet I think. It\'s also a great time to take advantage of the whole \"honey can you get this for me\". The baby is so well protected in your belly that it should be fine, I\'ve never heard of anything hurting the umbilical cord! Hope this helps.
